Markets Say: Pompeo Next to Leave? Scandal makes KS run more likely
Newsworthy
Mike Pompeo was in the news this weekend as the administration fired an Inspector General investigating him. Off this news, traders adjusted his chances to be the next to leave Trump’s cabinet from 16% up to ~25% yesterday.
Interestingly, his chances to run for Senate in Kansas also moved up on the news — from 6% to a midday high of 18% — suggesting traders believed the KS Senate run may be an out for him. Note that this move also saw a huge increase in the trading spread during that time.
