Markets Say: Jorgensen solidifies Libertarian lead over Hornberger; Vermin no longer VP Supreme
Newsworthy
Lots of volatility in the markets for both the Libertarian Presidential Nomination and Libertarian VP Nomination yesterday as a pro-Jorgensen article was released and the party’s debate was aired at 8pm Eastern time. With Justin Amash out the market has roiled over the past several days.
First, Jo Jorgensen solidified her lead over Jacob Hornberger. The market now has her at 61% to win the nomination while Hornberger fell from 41% to the low teens before rebounding to 30%.
Interestingly, the movement appeared to primarily happen off of the press, while the debate stabilized the market.
In the VP market, yesterday’s headliner Vermin Supreme came back to reality as he dropped from 46% to 1%. His movement yesterday was on low volume — possibly driven by a few traders having a good time with $50 — another reminder that we need open and liquid prediction markets to keep prices accurate.
The current leader for Libertarian VP is Larry Sharpe, sitting at 73%.
